BANGALORE, JUNE 8. The Bangalore University College Teachers' Association (BUCTA) and the Karnataka Government College Teachers' Association (KGCTA) will stage a demonstration on Wednesday demanding that the State Government withdraw the proposed 15 per cent cut in the salary component of teaching and non-teaching staff. In a statement, K.G. Lokesh, president of BUCTA, and D.Y. Raddar, president of KGCTA, said that the demonstration would be held at the Physics block on the Central College campus. The other demands of the teachers include amendment to the University Act to allow teachers of under-graduate courses to enter the Academic Council and Senate of Universities and remuneration for valuation work to be paid on par with UGC scales.
