IETI 2004 from tomorrow

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, JUNE 8. Bangalore will host South India's first-ever and largest trade exhibition and conference on Infrastructure Engineering and Technology in India (IETI), from June 10 to 13.

Sandeep Bekal, Convener of IETI 2004, told presspersons here today that about 150 companies would take part in the event featuring the industrial segments such as automobile, infrastructure, power, engineering, instrumentation and control and fasteners.

As Bangalore was already number one in information technology and biotechnology, the exhibition would explore opportunities in infrastructure and engineering-related industries, he said. The objective of the trade fair was to bring buyers and sellers together for business networking and technology assessments and to expose them to the latest practices, strategic partnerships, vendor development and international benchmarking, he said.

Mr. Bekal said that the companies that would take part included Suzlon, Vestas, Ashok Leyland.

The Department of Railways, Nuclear Power Corporation and the Atomic Energy Commission from the public sector too were taking part.
