Cloudy skies

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday while the minimum was 20.5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 63 per cent.

At the Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 28.4 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively. The relative humidity was 61 per cent.

According to the forecast, on Wednesday the skies will be generally cloudy. Strong surface wind and light rain likely in some areas towards evening.

Dial the Mayor

The All India Radio, Bangalore, will feature the City Mayor, P.R. Ramesh, in `voices,' a phone-in programme, on Wednesday. The Mayor will answer questions of the public on various developmental programmes.

People can dial 22268152 and 22264654 between 8 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. to participate in the programme.

Water adalat

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board will organise a water adalat at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Central -2 Sub Division, High Grounds at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Complaints of consumers coming under the jurisdiction of H.G.R and Coles Park service station limits will be heard and settled at the adalat

Legal aid

The office of the Commissioner for Disabilities in association with the Alternative Law Forum will provide free legal services to disabled persons at the commissioner's office on Wednesdays. Persons with disabilities interested in availing of the service can visit the office at Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town, or contact Ph: 5482639/5482641 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Training

Canara Bank, under the aegis of the CBPJRD Trust, has invited applications for a three-month full time training programme in hardware assembling, maintenance and networking, which starts from July 2004.

The programme is for unemployed youth in the age group of 18 to 25 years residing in the city limits. Applicants should have passed the SSLC examination with good percentage with annual family income not more than Rs. 24,000. Interested persons can directly attend a written test on June 18 at 10.30 a.m.

Yoga therapy

Pranayama

Yoganjali Spiritual Centre is organising a one-week free pranayama, meditation, yoganidra and soham kriya classes for persons suffering from diabetes, asthma, blood pressure, headache and stress from June 14 between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. For details contact ph: 23235698.

Courses

The Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd, Malleswaram training centre, has started computer courses for students, housewives, office staff and others.

The courses offered are: O-Level, Computer Programmer, Office Management, Office Secretariat, DTP, Accounting and Computer, Data Entry Operator, Tally, and C or C++. For details contact ph: 23343046.

Programme

The Karnataka State Women Development Corporation and the Initiative for Development Foundation will organise a 15-day entrepreneurship development programme for women of the city.
