Murder case registered
The Balanagar police on Tuesday altered the case of suspicious death of a worker of a fan company, S. Bhujanga Rao, to that of murder.
A resident of Balanagar, Rao was found lying on the road at Baghlingampally on May 22 with acid burns all over the body. The police registered a case of suspicious death and shifted him to the Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment on May 29.
After establishing the victim's identity, the case was transferred to the Balanagar police. Inquiries revealed that Rao wife, who was admitted to B.B.R. Hospital on May 14 after a dog bit her, died a couple of days later. The police suspect that Laxmi's brother, Srinu, bore grudge against Rao, as the latter was allegedly not looking after Laxmi well.
"We received information that Srinu and his friend, Santosh, took Rao for a party on May 22 night and abandoned him at Baghlingampally after pouring kerosene on him," the Balanagar ACP, S. Diwakar, said. A hunt is on to nab Srinu and Santosh.
