ANANTAPUR, JUNE 9. Two persons were killed on the spot and five others seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry coming in the opposite direction near Eguvapalli village on NH-7 in Garladinne mandal of the district early this morning. According to the police, the two deceased -- Kristaiah (28) and Parthasarathi (26) -- and two of the injured belonged to Yemmiganur in Kurnool district. They were returning from Cuddapah after attending an army selection camp and had boarded the private jeep at Anantapur. The jeep driver, Ravikumar Reddy, was given first aid at Garladinne and rushed to the general hospital at Kurnool. The remaining four injured were admitted to the general hospital here.
