HYDERABAD, JUNE 9. Twenty-nine teams representing police wings of 22 States, one Union Territory and six Central Police Organisations will compete for 14 rolling trophies and 54 medals in the 47th All India Police Duty Meet to be held here between June 11 and 15. "This is the third time Andhra Pradesh is hosing the duty meet and all arrangements are in place," the Director-General of Police (Sports), Swaranjit Sen, told a press conference here on Wednesday. An expected 1,000 participants, including a contingent of 50 from Andhra Pradesh, would take part in the categories of scientific aids of investigation, footprints, fingerprints, portrait parley, dog squad performance, anti-sabotage check, photography, videography and computer awareness. A souvenir on the duty meet comprising articles on police subjects would be released. A seminar on police welfare, to be chaired by the National Police Academy Director, Ganeshwar Jha, would be held on June 14. While the All India Police Sports Control Board, headed by the Director of Intelligence Bureau (Central Government), released Rs. 10 lakhs for conducting the meet, the Andhra Pradesh Government released a matching grant.
