HYDERABAD, JUNE 9. Old order changeth, yielding place to the new. The portraits of the former Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, have been removed from all the chambers of the Ministers and officers in the Secretariat and in their place, those of the present incumbent, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, are installed. As a special attraction, large framed pictures of Mahatma Gandhi appeared on the walls. This is substituting the large-sized laminated photos of NTR, Telugu Desam founder. Compared to the laminated portraits of Mr Chandrababu Naidu, that of Dr Rajasekhara Reddy are well-framed with designed edges. Meanwhile, the Government has taken a decision to build a permanent Chief Minister's residence adjacent to Walden at Greenlands on the lines of the one existing for the Governor, Raj Bhavan. A top official said the new Chief Minister's residence would come up on the site to be gained after dismantling three Ministers' quarters used earlier by Kodela Sivaprasda Rao, Mandava Venkateswara Rao and B. V. Mohan Reddy. But, if Dr Reddy wants to go ahead with the present buildings of the erstwhile Ministers, the three buildings will be retained and clubbed into a single complex. In that case, the one used by Mr Sivaprasada Rao will be converted into his personal residence, that of Mr Venkateswara Rao into his back-office for receiving visitors and the one used by Mr Mohan Reddy will be marked for security. The three buildings would be connected by corridors, the officials said.
