BANGALORE, JUNE 9. A two-member team from the Election Commission of India held a meeting with the officials of the Chief Electoral Office at the Secretariat on Wednesday and discussed the issue of names of voters missing from the electoral rolls reported from various parts of the State. K.G. Rao, adviser, and S.K. Sabharwal, Under-Secretary, Election Commission of India, held discussions with Abhijit Dasgupta, Chief Electoral Officer, and H.C. Nagendra, Joint Chief Eletoral Officer. Mr. Dasgupta briefed the team about the various reasons for the non-inclusion of names of voters in the electoral rolls used in the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State. The team will visit Hassan on Thursday and hold a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner over reports that a large number of voters' identity cards were found in a garbage dump in the district headquarters. On Friday, the team will visit Gulbarga and Belgaum districts and hold discussions with the deputy commissioners there.
