Anju fifth at Ostrava
NEW DELHI: Anju Bobby George finished fifth with a jump of 6.59 metres at the Golden Spike Super Grand Prix meet at Ostrava, Czech Republic, on Tuesday, according to information received here.
Anju actually tied with Fiona May, the Sydney Olympics silver medallist, but the Italian was adjudged fourth on her `second best jump'. Anju's second best was 6.53m, as against May's 6.54m.
Russian Tatayna Kotova, World championship silver winner, took the gold with a fifth-round season-best leap of 7.00 metres, while another Russian, Tatyana Lebedeva claimed the second place with a 6.91m. The American superstar Marion Jones claimed the third spot with a sixth-round jump of 6.67m.
