BANGALORE, JUNE 9. Three players, state No. 2. Y. G. Vijendra, M. S. Tej Kumar, both of Mysore and State junior champion, Sriram Sarja, shared the lead with four points apiece after the fourth round of the State Open chess championship at UAS campus here on Wednesday. Local lad, Anish Das Sharma, pulled off the upset of the day, when he beat the third seed and FIDE rated Halsagar of Belgaum in the Sicilian Kalashnikov defence. Sarja halted the dream run of Asim Periera in Queen's gambit delcined game. Earlier in the third round, Periera had stunned the FIDE rated N. R. Raghuraman. Meanwhile, the second State Blitz championship will be held at UAS, on June 12. Further details can be had from KCA secretary.
