DINDIGUL, JUNE 9. The district administration will make efforts to provide basic amenities and develop infrastructure in Vadagu panchayat, the Collector, S. Murugai, said today Addressing a mass contact programme held at Komalipatti near here, he said the panchayat comprising many hamlets in the hills had seven schools, a sub-health centre, five open wells and seven overhead tanks. Steps would be taken to improve infrastructure in the panchayat. The Collector asked officials to propagate the government schemes, so that the people could utilise them. The Oddanchatram MLA, R. Chakrapani, urged the administration to take steps for desilting the Pachalur dam, as the storage capacity had drastically come down. Later, the Collector visited the dam and held discussions with the PWD officials. He cleared 29 petitions for patta transfer and road , drinking water and transport facilities.
