Maken felicitated

NEW DELHI JUNE 9. The CPWD Mazdoor Union, Government Employees Joint Front and National Front of Trade Unions today organised a function to felicitate the newly elected New Delhi MP, Ajay Maken, at Nirman Bhavan. The meeting was presided by the NFTU Chairman, B.K. Prasad.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Maken assured the government employees and the industrial workers that he would take up their grievances regarding the demand to set up the Sixth Pay Commission, lifting of the ban on recruitment in government departments and increasing the income-tax limit and interest rate on Provident Fund.

Patel hails AAI management

NEW DELHI JUNE 9. The Union Civil Aviation Minister, Praful Patel, has urged the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to gear up to meet the expectations of the travelling public and called for greater improvement in the services provided at the airports. Inaugurating the 9th Anniversary Celebrations of AAI this past Sunday, Mr. Patel complimented the AAI management and staff for playing a vital role in integrating a vast country like India and meeting the social commitments single-handedly.

Speaking on the occasion, the AAI Chairman, K. Ramalingam, said during the 10th Five Year Plan the Authority would be spending Rs. 5,404 crores on upgradation of airports through transfer of technology.

Moolchand opens free clinic

NEW DELHI JUNE 9. Moolchand Hospital has opened a free clinic at Didoli in Ghaziabad to provide free consultation and medicines to over 10,000 inhabitants in 10 villages in the vicinity of the clinic. Named `Justice P.N. Khanna Clinic', it would run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The hospital has also started free OPDs every Thursdays.

Self-defence training

NEW DELHI JUNE 9. Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura, conducted a self-defence training programme with the help of the Delhi police from May 14 to June 8. The Additional DCP, North-West, Manish Aggarwal, the ACP (Crime Against Women Cell), Ram Kishan, and Inspector Usha Bai participated in the training programme. Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Aggarwal laid emphasis on the importance of self-defence for girls. He also gave away prizes and certificates to successful candidates.

Free camp

for kids

NEW DELHI JUNE 9. A free camp for children is being organised at the Om-Vidya Institute of Homoeopathy and Allied Medical Sciences (OVIHAMS) at their medical centre on June 11. At the camp, children can get themselves treated for various problems like digestive disorders, loss of appetite and respiratory problems.
