NEW DELHI, JUNE 9. Nomination papers of 57 candidates, 31 of them Independents, for by-elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi were found valid after scrutiny today.

The six wards for which by-polls are being held are Trinagar, Keshavpuram, Nangloi, Khyala, Nandnagri and Timarpur. The Trinagar seat had fallen vacant following the murder of its councillor Atma Ram and election to the Keshavpuram seat was necessitated following the disqualification of its councillor Sharda Jain.
