CHENNAI, JUNE. 9. Education should go beyond the conventional methods of teaching and should help in creating good individuals out of children, the Kanchi Acharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, said today. Children should be taught moral science in a large measure and should be initiated into philosophy, culture and taught virtues at an early age, the Acharya said, while dedicating the Sir C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar School - The Grove. The school has been established by the C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation at its premises on Eldams Road at Alwarpet. Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi was also present. Nanditha Krishna, honorary director of the foundation, said The Grove was started with facilities to teach children between pre-kindergarten and fourth standard in the Indian Certificate for Secondary Education board. They hoped to expand from the next academic year onwards, Dr. Nanditha Krishna said. The thrust would be on to make students equipped with sufficient skills to face All India competitive examinations. To start with, they will not admit more than 30 students in each class, she said.
