THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 9. An unidentified person intruded into the house of one Biju at Nalanchira and decamped with 25 sovereigns of gold, including the necklace his wife was wearing. Police said the theft took place in the early hours of Tuesday. The intruded snatched the necklace of Biju's wife when she attempted to prevent him from ransacking their almirah. Police said the intruder had gained entry into the house by bending the iron grill of the kitchen window. The intruded also made away with Rs. 2,500 in cash, police said. Run over by train An unidentified woman was killed when she was run over by a train at Varkala railway station on Wednesday evening. Police said the body was being kept at the Medical College Hospital (MCH) mortuary for postmortem examination. Murder bid: one held The Rural police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the murder attempt on one Mohan Kumar at Venjaranmoodu on June 8. Police identified the accused as Sudheer. He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. IMFL seized The Rural police have arrested two youth, Ansar (30) and Anilkumar (30), in connection with the seizure of 7.5 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor meant for illicit sale in Varkala. An autorickshaw has been impounded by the police in connection with the seizure. The accused were produced before the court on charges of violation of the Abkari Act and remanded to 14 days in judicial custody.
