Succumbs to burns

A three-year-old girl, Nandini, who sustained burns after hot water fell on her on June 7, died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the Gandhi Hospital. The mishap occurred when hot water from a big bowl kept in the kitchen fell on Nandini when she pulled it, the Nacharam police said.

Dies in road accident

A seven-year-old girl, Alfreem, died early on Wednesday when a speeding van knocked her down while she was walking on the road near M.N.R. College in Jeedimetla. She was a native of Karnataka and had come to the city with her father, Hafeen Saab, to take fish medicine. They were on their way to catch a bus to their village when the accident took place.

House burgled

Thieves broke into the house of a businessman, V. Koteswara Rao, at Jaffar Ali Bagh in Somajiguda, and took away gold ornaments weighing 11 tolas. Rao locked his house and went to Shamshabad on June 6. On his return, he found the doors open and the property stolen, the Panjagutta police said.

Cash stolen

An attender of Canara Bank, B. Phool Singh (41), lost Rs. 60,000 in cash after thieves took away the money kept in the side box of his scooter, at Sai Nursing Home in Saidabad on Tuesday. A resident of Ravindra Naik Colony in Falaknuma, Singh went to the nursing home for a blood test. When he came out, the side box was found open and the cash missing, the Saidabad police said.

Mangalsutra snatched

Two motorcycle-borne youngsters snatched away the `mangalasutram' of a woman, Latha Nair (35), on Monday while she was walking on the road at Vengalaraonagar. The duo sped away towards Kalyananagar crossroads after snatching the chain, the Sanjeevareddynagar police said.

Stolen cash recovered

The Narayanaguda police on Wednesday recovered Rs. 2.10 lakhs in cash allegedly stolen by a car driver, Syed Osman (30), from his master Moinuddin Khan Sandozi's house. Osman confessed to his offence after being picked up from his house in Zeba Bagh.
