SCR collects Rs. 2.18 crores in fines

HYDERABAD, JUNE 9. A record sum of Rs. 2.18 crores was realised in the month of May from 1.71-lakh cases of ticketless and other irregular means on travel on South Central Railway (SCR).

According to an SCR release, this is the highest amount realised during any month ever since the inception of the railway zone. As part of the drive undertaken against irregular travel, 1,194 persons were prosecuted in various courts while 50 persons were imprisoned.
