Rectified spirit seized

PONDICHERRY, JUNE 10. Excise officials today seized rectified spirit from a shed on Thottakal main road here.

On a tip-off, a team led by the Deputy Commissioner, R. Anbalagan, went to the area and broke open the lock of the shed. They found 150 plastic containers each containing 35 litres of rectified spirit. The value of the brew was estimated at Rs. 7.5 lakhs.

The officials were on the lookout for a person.
