Balakrishna's bail petition rejected

HYDERABAD,
JUNE 10.
There was no reprieve for film actor Balakrishna, presently in the eye of a storm over the shooting incident, even on his birthday on Thursday as the Metropolitan Sessions Judge (MSJ), Bhavani Prasad, rejected the bail petition moved before him.
The judge did not agree with the contention of criminal lawyer, C. Padmanabha Reddy, the defence counsel for Mr. Balakrishna, that enlarging his client on bail would provide his `mental satisfaction' which would lead to his speedy recovery and that most of evidence collection had already been completed by the investigators.
The film actor is undergoing treatment in the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciencs (NIMS) while being in judicial remand. Mr. Bhavani Prasad, meanwhile, asked the actor's relatives to move a separate petition before the magistrate concerned for permitting them to call on Mr. Balakrishna at the hospital.
