KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 10. A cotton farmer, E. Koteshwar (40), committed suicide by consuming pesticide in Adivarampeta village of Mahamutharam mandal, on Wednesday night. Reports reaching here said the farmer was cultivating cotton on his three-acre land. Since the last three years he was incurring losses due to prevailing drought conditions. Unable to clear debts to the tune of Rs. 1.5 lakhs, he consumed pesticide. He died while undergoing treatment at the Peddapalli area hospital. He is survived with his wife and two children. ADILABAD: Gulishetty Gangaiah, 30, a farmer of Ratnapur Colony village in Nirmal mandal, committed suicide by consuming poison on the intervening night of June 9 and 10. According to reports reaching here, Gangaiah had run into debts after crops in his five acre agricultural field failed successively for the last five years. He owed Rs. 30,000 to the ADCC Bank and another Rs. 10,000 to private moneylenders. NALGONDA: A debt-ridden farmer, P. Eedaiah (45), of Rajupet thanda of Marriguda mandal committed suicide by consuming pesticide. According to the information reaching here, Eedaiah, owned three acres land. He was found dead in his fields and a pesticide bottle was found besides him. He had reportedly borrowed Rs. 1 lakh from various sources to meet agricultural expenses but the failure of two borewells he had sunk in further complicated matters for him.
