Rae Bareli normal, says U.P. police chief
LUCKNOW,
JUNE 10.
The Uttar Pradesh police chief, V.K.V Nair, today denied that law and order situation in Rae Bareli District had deteriorated but admitted that the crime graph in the State had registered a marginal increase in comparison to previous years.
``The situation in Rae Bareli was normal and there was no problem of law an order in the district,'' he told reporters here.
In an oblique reference to the Congress' charge that its workers were being targeted in Rae Bareli, Mr. Nair said: "There is no increase in crime against any particular party in the district''.
The increase in the crime graph in Rae Bareli is the same as in other parts of the State, he added.
