CITU flays cancellation of Government posts

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, JUNE 10. The State Committee of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has condemned the new Government for cancelling 404 posts at the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board head office here and demanded that the relevant order be immediately withdrawn.

In a statement, S. Veeraiah, general secretary of the State CITU, said it was surprising that the new Government has taken recourse to such an action at a time when the Telugu Desam Government was rejected by voters for initiating such anti-employee policies at the behest of the World Bank. The Congress Government had promised security and justice, he said and added that the posts were cancelled through a directive on June 4.
