THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 10. The Students Federation of India (SFI) has asked the Government to reverse its decision to grant six more engineering colleges in the self-financing sector. A press note issued here today said there are 19,000 seats in as many as 78 engineering colleges in the State. Many of the students who get admitted to engineering courses do not have the necessary academic qualifications for pursuing an engineering course. As such, the Government decision can only spell doom for quality in engineering education in the State, the press note said.
