Inflation rises to 5.03 p.c.

NEW DELHI, JUNE 11. The rate of inflation rose for the third consecutive week to 5.03 per cent for the week ended May 29 despite cheaper vegetables and fruits, eggs and several edible oils. The point-to-point wholesale price index (WPI) inflation was up marginally by 0.1 per cent against the previous week's 5.02 per cent. The index was 5.75 per cent during the year-ago period.
