Tata Daewoo launches Novus

MUMBAI, JUNE 11. Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd. introduced the heavy-duty truck model, Novus, in the Korean market. Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd. is now rechristened Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd (TDCV) after it was taken over by Tata Motors.

The company's newly launched truck features high performance, environment-friendly electronic engine, a new look cabin and host of other convenience and safety features, stated a release issued here today by the Tatas. "The high performance electronic engine mounted in Novus is specially designed for TDCV to meet the rigid environmental standard of Euro III and compete in the international market," it added.

Unveiling the new product, Ratan N. Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors, said, "It will strengthen the company's product offerings and enable it to compete well in Korea and in other international markets." It plans to export the new vehicle to the Middle East, Africa and Asia including India. The company also has plans to launch more products in the near future.

Ravi Kant was appointed Chairman of the new company, Kwang-Ok Chae, CEO and President, and Praveen Kadle was appointed Director on the board of Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd, the release stated.
