HUDA scheme for dependents of Haryana police

CHANDIAGRH, JUNE 11 .The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has decided to reserve two per cent plots for dependents of officers of the Haryana police who are killed in action or in encounter with the anti-social elements.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by the HUDA Chairman, Dhir Pal. He later announced that HUDA had also decided to reduce the interest rate for payment of industrial plots from the existing 15 per cent to 11 per cent per annum and penal interest rate from 18 per cent to 14 per cent in consonance with the industrial policy of the State Government. The validity period of the permission to transfer residential or commercial plots had also been extended from existing 60 days to 90 days.

It was also decided to establish two teams of Boxing (Women) and Hockey (Women) and make provisions in the HUDA service regulations for appointment of sports persons.

A budget of Rs. 1405.17 crores for the financial year 2004-05 was also approved. As many as 4,345 acres of land are proposed to be acquired in different urban estates of Haryana at a cost of Rs. 252 crores while Rs. 365 crores have been earmarked for the development of various activities. Nine new residential and two institutional schemes are likely to be floated during the current financial, he added.
