Film producers thank traders

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, JUNE 11. The Tamil Film Producers Council has thanked the Burma Tamizhar Marumalarchi Sangam for banning the sale of pirated Tamil cinema VCDs.

In a release, the Council said the sellers of pirated VCDs had been warned of detention under the Goondas Act. Subsequently, the Sangam had appealed to the Burma Bazaar traders to refrain from dealing with pirated stuff.

During a raid, police seized VCDs worth Rs. 3 lakhs from Mannady and recovered fake labels of Rajnikant-starrer `Jakkubai', said the release.
