BANGALORE, JUNE 11. The Cottonpet Police arrested Muktiyar Ahmed and Ishtiyaq on Friday on charges of molesting and attempting to murder a woman of Kavalbyrasandra. According to the police, Shabbir Ahmed, Muktiyar's brother and prime accused in the case, is at large. According to a complaint lodged with the police by the victim on Friday, she had given Shabbir Rs. 50,000 as the advance fee for an application for a Bangalore Development Authority site in Arkavathy Layout. But he reportedly did not pay the money and later convinced her to give him a blank cheque. He later withdrew Rs. 2.5 lakh from her account. When she came to know of this, she decided to confront him. He took her to a house near T.C. Royan Road on June 7. They reportedly had a quarrel and Shabbir molested her, the complaint said. Then, the three accused tied her up, gagged her and beat her till she was unconscious, it said.
