BANGALORE, JUNE 12. Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 99 guided West Zone to 265 for six against East Zone in a Col. Hemu Adhikari inter-academy tournament match that commenced at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday. Rohit's knock (99 n.o., 141b, 9x4, 3x6) along with opener Cheteshwar Pujara's 72 propped up the West innings after seamers Sayak Ghosh and Atish Jena struck early to leave the score tottering at 28 for three in 10 overs. In another match at the IAF Ground, opener Tanmay Srivastav's 71 helped Central Zone score 268 for seven against South Zone. Meanwhile at the WAP Ground, North Zone mustered 136 for four after bundling out Combined Zone for 214. North seamer Abid Nabi grabbed five wickets to hasten the Combined Zone collapse.
West Zone 265 for six in 90 overs (Rohit Sharma 99 n.o., Cheteswar Poojara 72, Anand Singh 38, Sayak Ghosh three for 61) vs East Zone.
Central Zone 268 for seven in 90 overs (Tanmay Srivastav 71, Arish Alam 47 n.o., Ali Murtaza 46, Ravikanth Shukla 31) vs South Zone.
Combined Zone 214 in 50 overs (Ankur Garg 49, Jalaj Saxena 46, Mahesh Rawat 40, Gaurav Sharma 29, Abid Nabi five for 68) vs North Zone 136 for four in 40 overs (Sunny Singh 41, Mayank Tehlan 28, Jalaj Saxena three for 32).
