ADILABAD, JUNE 12. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) candidates in recent elections have had an easy time compared to the Congress winners in terms of election expenditure. Except for TRS' Adilabad MP, T. Madhusudan Reddy, all the three MLA candidates incurred less election expenditure than their nearest Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rivals. Similarly, the Congress candidates with the exception of the Sirpur MLA, Koneru Konappa, incurred more expenditure than the defeated TDP candidates. Saturday being the last day for filing the election expenditure accounts by contestants, Mr. Madhusudan Reddy filed an expenditure total of Rs. 7.35 lakhs approximately while the defeated TDP candidate S. Venugopalachary, submitted accounts for an expenditure of just over Rs. 4.35 lakhs. The Mudhole MLA, Narayan Rao Patel of the TRS, incurred Rs. 4.5 lakhs of election expenditure while his BJP rival showed his expenditure as Rs. 5.61. lakhs. The TRS MLA from Khanapur (ST), Ajmeera Govind Naik, incurred Rs. 2.33 lakhs against the defeated TDP candidate Rathod Ramesh's Rs 2.75 lakhs. At Boath (ST) the TRS MLA, Soyam Bapu Rao, showed an expenditure account much less than his defeated rival G. Nagesh's Rs. 5.74 lakhs. The Congress' G. Vinod (now a Minister) at Chennur (SC) incurred Rs. 5.67 lakhs as election expenditure against the defeated TDP candidate, Boda Janardhan's Rs. 2.84 lakhs. At Nirmal, the MLA, A. Indrakaran Reddy, spent Rs. 5.31 lakhs against the defeated TDP candidate's Rs. 3.76 lakhs. TheTDP's Gone Hanmanth Rao spent Rs. 7 lakhs in Luxettipet, yet was defeated by his Congress rival N. Diwakar Rao by 166 votes. At Sirpur the defeated TDP candidate, Palvai Rajyalaxmi, spent Rs. 4.32 lakhs.
