NAMAKKAL, JUNE 12. A group of unidentified persons allegedly attacked a pastor at Velur in Namakkal district last night. S.A. Samuel (40), pastor of the ``Church of Grace'' he was running in a small thatched hut in the Sandhapettai area, was pulled down as he was boarding a bus at the Velur bus stand. Despite pleadings, the group, comprising youth, thrashed him, warning that he should refrain from doing ``prayer service'' in the area, Mr. Samuel told The Hindu this evening from his bed in the Government Hospital, Namakkal. He said he suffered internal injuries in the back and hip. Asked why he had not preferred a police complaint, Mr. Samuel said that he had lost consciousness following the attack and that a `faithful' shifted him to the hospital.
