CUDDAPAH, JUNE 13. A permanent science centre is proposed to be set up in Cuddapah and this is envisaged in the district master plan forwarded to the State Government, according to the Collector, Jayesh Ranjan. He was speaking after launching a programme on `Year of Scientific Awareness' here. He said scientific awareness was vital in all walks of life and hence must be spread to the rural areas too. Farmers should gain scientific knowledge to achieve greater yield, he said. The District Science Officer, S. Nissar Ahmed, said scientific awareness would hasten the progress of society. Children must be imparted scientific awareness in schools, he said. The State coordinator of Cuddapah Obliging Voluntary Associations Network (COVAN), Nazeer Siddiq, the president, P. Siva Reddy, and the secretary, S. Ameer Basha, spoke.
