HYDERABAD, JUNE 15. The Jawahar Bal Bhavan in association with National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi, will organise `Bal Shree' screening camp to select creative children in the age group of nine to 16 years in different fields on July 20. The Director and Special Officer, M.K. Ramu, told mediapersons on Tuesday that eligible children in the areas of creative art, creative writing, creative scientific innovation and creative performance (music, dance and drama) could send their applications along with bio-data, photograph, date of birth certificate and performance particulars to the Director, Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Public Gardens, Nampally, Hyderabad on or before July 15. The candidates would have to attend the screening camp at their own expense. The selected candidates would have to attend a zonal-level competition in August. The candidates selected for the zonal and national level rounds and one of their escorts would be given to and fro fare, he said. The Bal Shree award winners would receive a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, memento and certificate from the President at a function to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Dr. Ramu said that eight candidates would be selected for the zonal level comprising Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and those selected at the zonal level would go to the final round where two candidates would be selected. Last year, among eight candidates selected at the local level, five were selected for the zonal level and finally two were selected for the national level.
