Vijaya Bank goes live with RTGS
BANGALORE: Vijaya Bank today announced that it has gone live with Real Time Gross Settlement, which will enable instant transfer of funds between banks and institutions.
"Launched by THE Reserve Bank of India, RTGS systems effect final settlements of inter bank funds transfers on a continuous, transaction-by-transaction basis throughout the processing day," the bank said in a statement. Vijaya Bank said it was able to put through 21 inter-bank transactions on its maiden run on June 14. The total inward transactions made were Rs. 53.64 crores and the total outward transaction was Rs. 36.37 crores. Till now 37 banks have gone live on RTGS, according to the statement. — PTI
