Energy Trading buys Wellman

KOLKATA, JUNE 15. Energy Trading Company Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Singapore-based Natural Resources Pte. Limited, today said it had acquired two coke ovens and an engineering unit of West Bengal-based Wellman Incandescent Limited through official liquidators.

"We have acquired all the three units — two in West Bengal and one in Orissa — for Rs. 13.25 crores and will invest another Rs. 62 crores for starting production," Energy Trading's Director, B. Chatterjee, said. — PTI
