CHENNAI,
JUNE 15.
The passengers seated in the bus at the Koyambedu bus terminus had a few anxious moments today when a 30-something man took the steering, while the driver and conductor were away.
He started driving the vehicle through the crowded bus terminus.
It was only after an alarm was raised by the `real' driver who sprinted after the bus shouting `stop' that the passengers realised what was happening.
Fortunately for them, the hair-raising ride came to an end, as the man who drove the vehicle got bored and stopped after sometime.
Meanwhile, MTC staff overpowered the man, identified as Palani, and handed him over to the Koyambedu police.
It is suspected that the man is mentally ill.
