Inter-District under-19 cricket from June 19

MADURAI, JUNE 16. The TNCA-Hercules MTB Drive inter-District under-19 cricket tournament will commence simultaneously at seven centres in Tamil Nadu on June 19.

The 28 participating teams have been divided into seven zones of four teams each for the first league phase (50 overs-a-side) from June 19 to 21. The top two teams from each zone will qualify for the second (knock-out) stage of two-day matches on July 12 and 13.

The winners of the second stage will play in the quarterfinals. The semifinals and the final will be three-day affairs.

The teams for the league phase: Zone A: Tirunelveli, Vellore, Tiruvarur, Erode; Zone B: Madurai, Salem, Karur, Pudukottai; Zone C: Sivagangai, Thiruvallur, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram; Zone D: Dindigul, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Tuticorin; Zone E: Nagapattinam, Virduhunagar, Coimbatore, Thanjavur; Zone F: Theni, Pondicherry, Tiruchirappalli, Nilgiris; Zone G: Namakkal, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai.
