NEW DELHI, JUNE 16. The Congress today decided to field E.M. Sudarshana Nachiappan as the party nominee from Tamil Nadu, re-nominate, Santosh Bagrodia from Rajasthan and contest in Uttar Pradesh where it stands little chance of seeing its candidate through in the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha.

Mr. Natchiappan, who had represented the Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency, in the 13th Lok Sabha made way for the party to accommodate the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram.
