Madras Cements pays 50 per cent final

CHENNAI,
JUNE 16.
Madras Cements has reported net sales of Rs. 694.60 crores for the year ended March 31, 2004 against Rs. 626.14 crores and the gross profit before depreciation and interest charges stood at Rs. 167 crores against Rs. 153.51 crores in the previous year.
After providing for taxation of Rs. 20.73 crores (Rs. 10.37 crores), the net profit was Rs. 33.40 crores against Rs. 12.96 crores.
The directors have recommended a final dividend of 50 per cent.
The total dividend for the year is 75 per cent including the interim of 25 per cent already paid.
Lakshmi General
Lakshmi General Finance (LGF)has disbursed Rs.506.10 crores (Rs. 406.16 crores) under hire purchase/ loans against hypothecation of assets, registering a growth of 24.6 per cent during 2003-04.
The profit before tax was Rs. 28.56 crores (Rs. 25.84 crores) and the profit after tax Rs. 18.64 crores (Rs. 16.65 crores). The owned funds of the company stood at Rs. 116.26 crores.
Two interim dividends totalling 70 per cent paid already have been treated as final.
