KOCHI, JUNE 16. The Thrikkakara grama panchayat has almost finalised projects worth Rs. 1.34 crores under the Plan funds for the current financial year. The last round of discussions on draft proposals were held at the Panchayat Community Hall on Wednesday. Prior to this, the panchayat authorities had completed the discussions on 20 grama sabhas in the panchayat. The development seminar on Wednesday saw the culmination of a protracted exercise to identify and allocate funds for the most crucial requirements of the special grade panchayat. Wednesday's seminar was inaugurated by K. Babu, MLA. The panchayat president, M.E. Hassainar, and the panchayat secretary, V. Balakrishna Rao, were present. The Plan funds for the financial year have been allotted under three heads. Under the general head, Rs. 81,92,000 has been allotted. Under the employment generation schemes, Rs. 10,39,000 has been allotted and the special component of the Plan will have Rs. 41,79,000. Production sector will get about 30 per cent of the Plan funds while services sector will get 40 per cent and infrastructure sector 30 per cent. An integrated paddy cultivation scheme, organic farming, floriculture and waste management have been given significant allocations. Agriculture leads the allocation in the production sector with allocations ranging from Rs. 1 lakh for integrated paddy cultivation to Rs. 25,000 for vanilla cultivation. The Kudumbashree projects have been allocated a total of Rs. 14 lakhs under various heads, including Rs. 10 lakhs for building a compound wall for a cluster of Kudumbashree production units.
