India not to take Pakistan lightly
CHANDIGARH,
JUNE 17.
World champion Pankaj Advani, on Thursday said that despite its recent successes, India would not take Pakistan lightly in the India-Pakistan Peace Cup snooker tournament starting here on Friday.
India, coached by four-time world champion Michael Ferreira, also includes reigning Asian snooker champion Alok Kumar, two-time Asian champion Yasin Merchant, Asian Games gold medallist Rafat Habib and Manan Chandra.
The Pakistan's world No. 2 Saleh Mohammed also predicted a tough battle in the three Test matches.
Pakistan coach and manager Shahnawaz Khan also expressed similar sentiments when he said that India would be a tough side to beat.
The other members of the touring squad include former world and Asian snooker champion Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan's top ranked player Khurram Agha, Imran Shezad and Mohammad Atik.
The players from both sides played exhibition matches on Thursday to have a feel of the green baize. PTI
