PONDICHERRY, JUNE 17. The Health Minister, E. Valsaraj, today ordered a probe by a high level committee of officers of the department of Health and Family Welfare Services here into a complaint from a woman that her husband, admitted to the government general hospital, was not getting proper treatment. The Minister held today discussions with the officers including the Director of Health services and then formed the committee to go into the veracity of the complaint and file a report at the earliest. The woman told the Minister that her husband was admitted with injuries suffered in a road accident and that he was not given proper care and attention.
Health cards
Mr. Valsaraj said that health cards for the residents of Pondicherry region would be distributed from June 24. The purpose was to enable the cardholders to get necessary treatment at the hospital on a priority basis.
