Nominated to NCERT panel

NEW DELHI, JUNE 17. The Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Arjun Singh, today nominated four persons to the Executive Committee of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in his capacity as the NCERT president.

They are Chandrakant Deotale, poet and scholar, Mridula Mukherjee of the Department of History, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Anita Rampal of the Department of Education, Delhi University, and M.P. Parmeswaran of the Kerala Sastra Sahithya Parishad, Thiruvananthapuram.

These appointments have been made under Rule 23 (iv) of NCERT Regulations after the Council wrote to the Ministry seeking new nominations since the three-year term of the outgoing nominees was nearing completion. All major decisions of the Council have to get the approval of the Executive Committee.
