Reshuffle in police top brass

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 17. In a major reshuffle of the police top-brass, the DIGs, G. Baburaj, has been transferred to the Thrissur range and Y. Anil Kumar to the headquarters.

R. Sreelekha has been transferred to the Ernakulam range and Mohammed B. S.Yasin to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau here.

According to an official release, the Superintendents of Police, T.Vikram and T. Chandran, have been transferred to Kannur and Pathanamthitta respectively. V. V. Mohanan has been transferred to Kozhikode (Rural), S. Suresh to Thrissur, D. Vijayan to the headquarters, M. N. Jayaprakash to Ernakulam (Rural), T. M. Abu Baker to Palakkad, P.Vijayan to Thiruvananthapuram (Rural), M. V. Somasundaran to Kasargode, M. Vahab to Kottayam and Gopesh Aggarwal to Idukki.

S.Vinod Thomas has been transferred to the Tele Communications wing in Thiruvananthapuram, Sugathan to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Special Cell in Thiruvananthapuram, K. J. Mathew to Kottayam, N. Chandran to the Crime Branch C.B.C.I.D in Ernakulam, P. M. Abdul Khader to the Special Branch C.B.C.I.D in Kozhikode, Varghese George to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Kottayam, S. Gopinath to the Excise Commissionerate (Vigilance) in Thiruvananthapuram, Rajan Singh and K. Sadasivan to the Special Branch CID headquarters in Security and Intelligence respectively, and Manoj Abraham to the C.B.C.I.D. headquarters.

The Thiruvananthapuram SP (Rural), Belram Kumar Upadhyay, has been posted as City Commissioner in Thiruvananthapuram and Dinendra Kashyap as Kochi City Commissioner. The Commandant, T. P. Rajagopalan, has been posted to the Armed Police, Fifth Battallion, P. A. Varghese to the State Rapid Action Force (SRAF) and T. J. Jose to the Armed Battallion.

The following officers have been promoted as SPs from the non-IPS cadre: V. T. Thomas has been promoted and appointed in C.B.C.I.D in Kottayam, K. Sadasivan in S.B.C.I.D. (Security) in Thiruvananthapuram. The SP, K. Unni, has been transferred to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (Northern Range) in Kozhikode.
