Vatal pedals to register protest
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE,
JUNE 17.
The leader of the Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha, Vatal Nagaraj, has urged the Congress-led coalition Government at the Centre to withdraw the increase in prices of petroleum products.
Mr. Nagaraj was speaking to presspersons on Thursday after coming to the Vidhana Soudha on a bicycle to register his protest against the hike.
Mr. Nagaraj said the increase in the price of cooking gas would burden the people. The increase in the prices of petrol and diesel would result in a hike in bus, autorickshaw, and taxi fares, he said.
Mr. Nagaraj questioned the Left parties' support to the move. He wanted them to register their protest by withdrawing support to the Union Government.
He requested the people's representatives to raise their voice against the decision of the Union Government.
