Woods highest paid athlete
New York: Tiger Woods is the world's highest-paid athlete, earning $80.3 million in the last year, according to Forbes magazine's ``Celebrity 100'' issue.
Woods edged Formula One driver Michael Schumacher for the top spot on Forbes' list. The German racing star took home $80 million.
The rest of the top 10 are: Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning ($42 million); the retired Michael Jordan ($35 million); Los Angeles Lakers centre Shaquille O'Neal ($31.9 million); Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett ($29.7 million); tennis star Andre Agassi ($28.2 million); soccer icon David Beckham ($28 million); New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez ($26.2 million); and Lakers guard Kobe Bryant ($26.1 million).
No female athletes made the list of the top 50.
Woods was second overall on the Celebrity 100 power ranking list, behind only actor-director Mel Gibson. The list factors in yearly earnings, press clippings, magazine covers and internet presence. AP
