Another fire at Kumbakonam

KUMBAKONAM,
JUNE 18.
Even as relief was being provided to victims of yesterday's fire at the Kumbakonam bus stand, 14 huts were damaged in a fire which broke out at 2 p.m. today at Thirupurambiyam near here.
Fire tenders brought the blaze under control.
The Kumbakonam Municipality chairperson, Lata Manoharan, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Murugan, and the Kumbakonam tahsildar, Nathan, distributed rice and kerosene to 21 persons whose huts were gutted yesterday.
It is reported that the fire might have broken out from a gas cylinder used in a hotel, which was damaged in the accident.
Seven shops were completely damaged while 21 shops were partly gutted.
Ko.Si. Mani, Kumbakonam MLA, and Sarath Kumar, film actor and MP, visited the spot today.
