ERODE, JUNE 18 . The Handloom Minister, V. Somasundaram, reviewed the production of school uniforms in the handloom sector. He also held discussions with weavers and officials at the Office of the Assistant Director of Handlooms here on Wednesday. A press release from the Cooperative Union today, said that the Minister had urged the Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies to complete the work before August 15 and start weaving sarees and dhoties. The works would keep the handloom weavers engaged till December, the Minister had said. The Commissioner, Handlooms and Textiles, V.K. Subburaj, had presided the meeting.
