Tamil Nadu promises to release water

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 18. The Tamil Nadu Government has promised Kerala to release water from the Parambikkulam-Aliyar Project to the Chittoor region in Palakkad district, as per the schedule agreed upon between the two States, the Minister for Water Resources, T. M. Jacob, has said.

In a press release, Mr. Jacob's office said that the two States would be reviewing the issue at a top-level meeting in the second week of August. Mr. Jacob had a detailed discussion with the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister, O. Paneer Selvam, in Chennai today, it added.
