Buddhadeb hopes Congress will not 'repeat mistakes'
ASANSOL,
JUNE 20.
The West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, today said the CPI (M) would support the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre if it follows the Common Minimum Programme.
Addressing a rally in Asansol in Burdwan district, organised for the June 27 municipal elections in the State, Mr. Bhattacharjee said he hoped the Congress would not `repeat its mistakes.'
He said the party had extended its support to the Congress only because ``we wanted a secular Government at the Centre.''
